RESEARCH INTERESTS
 Soil Isotope Geochemistry
 Understanding of the Paleo Environment

EDUCATION
Since 2010  Assistant Professor & Post-doc, in the Department of Urban and Environmental Science, Northwest University, China
2008-2010  Ph.D. in Quaternary Geology, Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences
2005-2008  M.D. in Quaternary Geology, Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences
2001-2005  B.E. in Geological Engineering, in the Department of Geology, Northwest University, China

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
 Good knowledge of biogeochemistry; Familiar with Thermo trace GC Ultra and Agilent GC 6890, Dian ASE200 Dissolution-enhanced Extractor, Kiel-Carbonate Device, Thermo Delta V Advantage, Delta plus, MAT251 and MAT 252 IRMS. Working experience for 4yrs.
 Involved in several NSFC projects, good research skill, attitude, and capacity.
 Familiar with PC software, such as Word, Excel, PPT for office and Coredraw, Origin 7.5, SPSS for professional application.

MAIN RESEARCH
 Study on Distribution Characteristics and carbon isotope composition of lipids (n-Alkanes, fatty acid or Rhizolith) in Loess-paleosol sequences by Different Extraction Methods, to understand the palaeoecology and paleoclimatic changes in drought and semiarid regions.
 Plant n-Alkanes from leaf waxes can be preserved in the geological record for a long time and register the information of the paleovegetation changes during historical periods. Investigation of the different life forms of plants and of soils at various altitudes along an elevation gradient, provides novel information regarding the effect of plant life form on the relationship between δDwax and altitude.
 From ancient civilizations with paleosol carbon isotopes suggest that Zijing farmers could raise livestock on a relatively large scale during the Yangshao and Longshan periods. The unusually negative δ13Csc values could reflect highly developed ancient agriculture civilization.

RESEARCH GRANTS
